New Obstacle Course Racing World Championships Qualifying Events Added
The new qualifier races include Spain’s Farinato Race, Italy’s Inferno Run, X-Run events in Central America, Conquer the Gauntlet events in the US, and the Prison Break series in Canada. A full listing of qualifier races can be found on the OCRWC website.
“This is a tremendous day for our event and organization,” said OCRWC Founder & CEO Adrian Bijanada. “By expanding our reach into these countries and drawing an even more diverse field of athletes to our event, we are reinforcing our position as the true independent world championship in Obstacle Course Racing.”
All athletes are required to qualify for the OCR World Championships, scheduled to take place on October 17 & 18, by meeting specific results criteria at a network of qualifying events.
“We are very excited and proud that Inferno is going to be the first Italian race to become an OCRWC qualifier, said Mauro Leoni, President of ItalianSportLab, organizers of the Inferno Run. “This makes us even more committed to offering a high-quality racing experience to our participants.”
“Having X-Run as a qualifying race for the 2015 OCRWC raises the bar for our athletes and gives them the opportunity to represent the region at a competitive level,” said X-Run Marketing Director Juan Miguel Monterroso.
