Adventurey formally commits to donating at least 1% of its annual revenue to support nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.
Adventurey LLC, the producer of the Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) World Championships, is proud to announce it has partnered with 1% for the Planet and is formally committed to donating a minimum of 1% of all annual revenue to support nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.
“As producers of outdoor sporting events and outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, we feel strongly about making this commitment to our planet,” Adrian Bijanada, Adventurey founder and CEO, said. “Additionally, we’ve been working to eliminate waste at our events with more reusable obstacles and fewer single-use plastics. Over the coming months, we’ll be making more exciting announcements about partnering with organizations that can help us get closer to our ultimate goal of producing carbon-neutral events.”
While there are many ways to give back, members of 1% for the Planet contribute at least one percent of annual sales directly to any of the approved nonprofit environmental organizations in the network. Nonprofits are approved based on referrals, track record, and environmental focus. Thousands of nonprofits worldwide are currently approved.
“Currently, only 3% of total philanthropy goes to the environment, and only 5% of that comes from businesses,” Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet, said. “The planet needs bigger support than this, and our growing network of member businesses is doing its valuable part to increase giving and support on the ground outcomes. We’re excited to welcome Adventurey and the OCR World Championships to our global movement of over 2,000 businesses.”
By contributing 1% of their annual sales, over 2,000 1% for the Planet members from 45 different countries have raised over $225 million to support environmental nonprofits around the globe.
