Obstacle Course Racing World Championships Wins Mudstacle Award for Best International Event

On Saturday December 9, 2017, the 2017 Obstacle Course Racing World Championships was honored over the at the Mudstacle Awards which recognizes excellence in the obstacle racing industry. The ceremony and banquet was held United Kingdom and customarily honors the best UK and international events. This year, the OCR World Championships received two awards as the 2017 event received the awards for Best International Race and Best Swag. This marked the third year in a row the OCRWC has won Best International Event and the first year for Best Swag.

Rachelanne Gladden and Gertjan van Voorden accepted the awards on behalf of the organization.

“It was an honor to represent the OCR World Championships. The event was an incredible gathering of the international obstacle course racing community. Winning not one, but two awards this year has exceeded our expectations” said Rachelanne Gladden, Athlete Services Manager for the OCR World Championships. “We can’t wait for to bring our unique event to England in 2018 and reach an even broader audience.”

The Mudstacle Awards are community-based awards voted on by the obstacle racing community in the United Kingdom and beyond. In addition, the OCR World Championships’ and sister race, the US OCR Championships received a nomination for Best US Event from obstacle course racing media outlet MudRunGuide.com, with results are to be announced on December 20, 2017.
