The OCR World Championships are the only truly independent global championships for the sport of Obstacle Course Racing. Its mission is to unify, promote, and increase participation in the sport of OCR while celebrating its athletes and community.

Event Details

The 2018 event will be held 19-21 October, 2018 in Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex, England CM15 0LB.

Athletes are required to qualify to compete in the OCRWC based on his/her performance at specific Qualifying Races. Participants are required to provide proof of results at the time of registration.

Entry into the OCRWC is limited issued to qualified athletes on a first come, first served basis.

There are two World Championship distances available for athletes to compete in: Short Course (3k) and Standard (15k). The following divisions are available for each:

STANDARD (15k) DISTANCE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • Male: 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
  • Female: 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+

Journeyman & Journeywoman

The Journeyman & Journeywoman Divisions are exclusive waves reserved for the most passionate Obstacle Course Racers. There are no finishing results requirement (i.e. third in your age group)  to compete in this wave. Instead, athletes are required to complete ANY four obstacle course races between October 17, 2016 and October 6, 2017. Non-cash prizes are awarded for the winners of these divisions. Space in these waves are strictly limited.

Journeyman & Journeywoman

The Journeyman & Journeywoman Divisions are exclusive waves reserved for the most passionate Obstacle Course Racers. Proof of Results & Acceptance

All athletes are required to submit proof of results at the time of registration. Acceptance into the OCRWC is granted only after verification by OCRWC officials.

Obstacle Course Racing World Championship events are premier athletic competitions. As such, entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferrable, and may not be deferred to another year.

Refunds, transfers, or deferments of entries are not granted for any reason, including injury, pregnancy, military exercise or deployment, and family emergencies.

Athletes unable to compete due to the above reasons or other personal circumstances may defer their qualification status to the following year. The following year’s registration fee is not waived in these instances.

Note: Athletes may have the option to purchase optional registration refund insurance through a third party provider during the time of registration. Refunds through this program are only available from this provider and are subject to their policies, terms, and conditions.

The OCR World Championships are intended to be a competition between the best obstacle course racers in their respective divisions. As such, transfers of race entries are strictly prohibited. Athletes found to be in violation of this policy may be banned from the World Championship and future OCRWC competitions.
