Whether it’s the free future race entry or the free lunch, there’s always a reward (above the personal satisfaction!) to volunteering.
For so many people, their favorite part of OCR is the incredible community, and the volunteers make up a huge part of this. Being a marshal gives the opportunity to spend time with others, and all the racers.
It’s not uncommon to find great joy in helping others, and volunteering is a great way to do this. Advising runners, shouting encouragement, or even doling out sweeties and muddy hugs. And let’s not forget that marshals are key to OCR, without them giving their time, the races wouldn’t exist.
Shifts are available Thursday through Sunday, with both indoor and outdoor opportunities available. Outdoor volunteers should come prepared to spend eight hours outside in all elements, including sun, wind, rain, and cold weather.
Available options include:
*All volunteers must work the entirety of their eight-hour shift and check out with the Volunteer Director to receive their free race registration code.
